In order to prove  FWD cars can challenge RWD cars in a professional drift event, the Chinese EASYDRIFT sat to make history. First the team bought a 2nd hand MK 5 VW Gold Gti in Hong Kong, then they drove the car into mainland China and modified it into a drift race car. The modification list is short -  a rollcage, racing seat, racing harness, fire extinguisher and a master cut off switch, basically only safety equipments are installed to pass the technical check.
